American Idol Recap

american idol womenAs season seven starts narrowing down the top 20, only 2 out of 10 of the women seem to have a strong foothold. Irish rocker, Carly Smithson (left), struck a cord with her rendition of Heart’s “Crazy On You” and Brooke White (right) sold the judges, especially Simon, on her version of the Carly Simon classic, “You’re So Vain.” The rest of the ladies fell kind of flat. Mediocre performances of forgettable songs such as “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” “Carry on Wayward Son” and “Magic Man” were equally forgettable. (more…)

sheryl crow releases new album, DetoursSongstress Sheryl Crow is back on the scene with Detours, her first album to be released after her breast cancer diagnosis in February 2006. Described as being “very inspired” by the last few years of her life, in which she battled cancer and worked through a split with partner Lance Armstrong.
