Indie record shops all across the U.S. will unite on April 19th, 2008 for the inaugural “Record Store Day.” In an effort to reinforce that nothing compares to your friendly neighborhood record store, local shops will be having live music, customer giveaways and special discounts on merchandise throughout the day. Community outreach efforts such as registering people to vote and helping the Red Cross conduct a blood drive are also scheduled.
