Radio.SC Band of the Week, Charleston’s The CarbonAudio Effect!
Congratulations to The CarbonAudio Effect, South Carolina Band of the Week at www.Radio.SC!
Making Change
Through a myriad of changes, the guys of Charleston’s The CarbonAudio Effect have forged on, improving upon themselves and the sound of their music, becoming one of the fastest rising bands in the Lowcountry. Drawing influences and inspiration from bands such as Linkin Park and Family Force 5, their latest EP, “Rescue Me” on Apparatus Records, blends together lead singer Noel DeLisle’s soaring vocal prowess with original musical compositions from band members Jesse Snider (rhythm guitar), Tyler Boone (lead guitar), Nate Thompson (bass guitar) and Gary Turner (drums). Recently featured at North Charleston’s “Stop the Violence” showcase, The CarbonAudio Effect is using their alt-rock appeal to bring attention to another “unseen” problem in the tri-county area: homelessness.
The band has started grassroot efforts to bring the problem of homelessness to the forefront, with their “Rock the Streets” campaign. Officially kicking off at the end of the summer, The CarbonAudio Effect will be joining forces with fellow local bands, businesses and venues, putting on a showcase of benefit shows aimed at supporting local homeless shelters and aid organizations. “We’re kind of piggybacking on Switchfoot’s efforts to help out Habit for Humanity and homeless shelters all across the country. We’re looking to team up with churches and venues in the area to help raise money for programs that are already in place, as well as bring attention to ones that are needed,” DeLisle explains. “Our first event is going to be a benefit show for the Callen-Lacey Center for Children in Charleston, which is celebrating it’s 10th year of providing a home for homeless and neglected children. “
DeLisle and the guys aren’t stopping there. Their next big show is going to be a “Go Green” concert at Charleston’s The Music Farm on August 9th, 2008. It’s a benefit show aiming to help raise money to aid public schools in ongoing efforts to “Go Green.” The CarbonAudio Effect will be joined by fellow local bands At Last Glance and The Valkyrie.
