Dec. 1st: World AIDS Day
More than 14,000 people are estimated to be living with HIV in South Carolina. About 800 people are diagnosed each year and every county in the state has residents with HIV.
Join the world on December 1st to help raise awareness and support research to help fight HIV/AIDS. There will be free, or low-cost, blood tests and/or awareness events being conducted at all local County Health Departments and University of South Carolina campuses throughout the state.
Roper Hospital and Bon Secours St. Francis hospital in Downtown Charleston will be holding an Awareness Event featuring local AIDS quilt panels, live music from Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers, informational booths, t-shirts for sale and lots of goodies.
