AC/DC Dedicates Music Therapy Room to Hospital

AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson is not completely “highway to hell,” he delivered an early Christmas gift to sick children at a Sarasota, FLa hospital by dedicating a music room on Monday. Roughly $20,000 for the room came from the John Entwistle Foundation which is a group founded in honor of the late bass player for The Who, AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Steve Luongo, the foundation’s director and former bandmate of Entwistle.

Last year they raised money for the foundation for this project from playing gigs.

The music therapy room will help children who are anxious about surgery and illness. The room includes an electronic drum kit, guitars, and keyboard, computer with recording software.

Music Industry Will Stop Suing Song Swappers

The group representing the U.S. music industry says it will abandon its policy of suing people for sharing songs protected by copyright.

The Recording Industry Association of America says that now it will try to stop alleged music pirates by working with Internet service providers to cut access to frequent abusers.

The move ends a controversial program that saw the industry sue more than 30,000 people since 2003 for swapping songs online.

The recording association said Friday that its new efforts with several leading U.S. Internet service providers would provide a meaningful deterrent, so it will wind down its legal assault. The group says it will still carry out cases already filed.
